Affecto Foundation Education Policy

1. Objective:
The objectives of this policy are to provide a guideline for the running of the Affecto Foundation Scholarship Watoto Wasome) Program.

  1. Sponsorship
    Sponsorship refers to part or full financial support towards secondary education. The sponsorship will cater for School Fees and Scholarstic Support; uniform, textbooks, academic field trips, participation in workshops. Student selfcare shopping will be provided based on need or sponsor provision.
  2. Sponsorship selection, application and qualification
    Application is open to candidates of all religion, race, ethnicity and gender. Selection and qualification is based on need and merit. Additionally, at the discretion of Affecto Foundation’s committee and policy.
  3. Disclosure
    It is the applicant’s role to make full disclosure of all material information as required by the foundation during application, selection and in the course of the sponsorship. The parent or guardian is also expected to disclose any material information in regards to the beneficiary such as but not limited to scholar discipline, scholar security, scholar pregnancy, scholar drop out/ truancy and scholar health.
  4. Discontinuation
    Sponsorships will be discontinued due to:
    • Mispresentation of material facts as requested during the application and selection process.
    • Non-disclosure of material facts on the status of the scholar.
    • Continued underperfomance (Below C+) despite relevant support and intervention by the school, foundation and the parent/guardian
    • Recorded indiscipline both at home and/or in school.
    • Scholar dropping out of school.
    • School non attendance unless on medical grounds as documented by a qualified medical professional.
    • Failure to submit the required documents such as but not limited to performance report form or progress report from school and scholar, fee statement/receipt and structure.

2. Amendments

Affecto Foundation may amend this policy. Modification may be necessary among other reasons to accommodate changes that may occur within the organization. Involved parties will be informed accordingly.

CALL FOR 2024 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:

Eligible Applicants:

  1. Must be from an economically vulnerable background.
  2. Must have attained 350 marks and above in their KCPE
  3. Must have not secured scholarship elsewhere
  4. Must have not enrolled to any secondary institution
  5. From any ethnic background.
  6. From any religious background.
  7. All genders are eligible.
  8. Hunger for success.
  9. People with special needs are highly encouraged to apply.

Caution:

  1. Ensure all data presented is true and accurate.
  2. The entire application form must be filled in.
  3. Do not make any payments to individuals who claim to assure you of this scholarship.

  5. Affecto Foundation has very limited opportunities and therefore only few successful candidates will be contacted.
